Calamity is a bean in the Dumb Ways to Die series who ate a tube of superglue, and suffocates on it, leaving her completely immobilized from it.
About[]
In her high school yearbook Calamity was named as the girl most likely to die in a disaster. Her parents built a second house for her to live in, just to keep the disasters at bay. Her cat was kidnapped by a tornado and her pet fish was taken by a rare land-dwelling plague. Despite these disasters, none could predict that it would be her love of all things 'tube-like' that would be Calamity's final hurrah.
Appearance[]
Calamity is a brown, oval-shaped bean, whose shape resembles Numpty and Pillock's. Although her appearance doesn't change after death, she is completely immobilized.

Dumb Ways to Die[]
She eats a tube of superglue which completely immobilizes her, causing her to drop the tube. The consumption of the superglue eventually leads to her death. In the chorus, she does not dance; instead, she tilts back and forth while holding her tube of superglue.
Melbourne International Film Festival[]
Calamity is one of the beans attending the festival. She is sat in front of Stumble and Ninny, to the left of Putz and to the right of Bonehead. Because she is immobilized, she cannot stare at Hapless when the others do.
Dumb Ways to Die - Watch out for slippery surfaces[]
After Dummkopf sneezed and walked away, Calamity slips on his snot and bleeds.

Dumb Ways to Die[]
Calamity can be unlocked for the player's Train Station at the score 2000 in the old version and at the total score of 768800 in the new version. In both versions, she is the 11th character to arrive at the train station, and in the new version, she is the 60th thing that can be unlocked. She also appears eating the superglue when the player pauses the game, but doesn't drop the tube.
- Stand Firm

The objective is to tilt the player's device or flatten it to keep Calamity from falling in the glue surrounding her. Doing this successfully will make her winking at the screen. Letting her fall forwards or backward will cause her to stick to the glue on the floor, and struggles to get loose to no avail. That animation was added in an update; before this, Calamity would just simply fall on the floor, stick to it and "die".

Calamity has another game in which the player will have to screw the top of the superglue. If they close the top of the superglue completely, a bunch of flowers will come out of the glue bottle, making Calamity smile. Otherwise, she will eat the glue and get immobilized again, much to her dismay.

Calamity has a Valentine game where the player has to trace a heart shape. If done correctly, Calamity will unfold a paper heart chain and feel loved. Otherwise, she'll get frustrated and throw the scissors in the air, which land on her head and results in failure.

In her Thanksgiving minigame, Putz and Doofus are seen playing football and hit the glass causing to spill water on the floor. The player has to clean up the spill by scrubbing the screen fast. If you cleaned up, Calamity holding a pie and place on the table with Putz and Doofus standing. If you don't, she will slip and bleeds out, much to Putz's and Doofus' shock, and her pie will land on Doofus’ head, resulting in failure.

Calamity is only seen in the winning and losing screens in this minigame. If the player does not put enough gear on Doofus, Doofus will try to punch Calamity, but he misses and Calamity punches Doofus, which may have killed him. Otherwise, Doofus will knock Calamity out (presumably killing her), and will be happy as the audience takes pictures and cheers.
Dumb Ways to Die 2: The Games[]
- Don't Sneeze
Calamity also appears in a Back-to-School mini-game where the player has to quickly tap the screen to prevent her from sneezing. If done successfully, she sighs in relief, and Phyllis, who acts as a librarian, looks at her unpleasantly. Otherwise, she's thrown out of the classroom, bleeds, and has a book thrown at her, resulting in failure.
- Save the Bean from Torture
Calamity also appears in a Winter mini-game where Dumbbell has to negotiate with Bard and Prince Dunce in order to stop them from killing her. If he does it correctly, Dumbbell and Calamity jump with excitement; otherwise, Bard kills Calamity.
- Tap the Safe Drain
Calamity also appears in a clown mini-game where the player has to tap the sewer without any creatures with red eyes. If you choose the right sewer, she will follow the paper boat. Otherwise, she will be slaughtered to death with only her arm left, and the red-eyed creature laughs and fades out, resulting in failure.
Dumb Ways to Die 3: World Tour[]
Calamity is significant to the plot in this game, as she accidentally set Dumbville on fire. The player has to play minigames and earn 
to help repair the town. She can be unlocked when the first house is repaired, although she can also be found in gifts. She is a common character, and her ability is an Omen, which is a 10% score multiplier.
Dumb Ways to Dash![]
Calamity can be unlocked in Dumb Ways to Dash!, at level 22, before Putz (level 25), and Ninny (level 19).

- In the chorus, she just simply tilts right-to-left with her signature tube of glue in hand.
- She, Clod and Bungle are the only three characters who don't dance in the video at all.
- She's one of the brown characters, the others being the bear and the moose (shown in the video and the app respectively).
- She is also the only brown bean in the original video.
- Despite having a mouth, she visibly appears to not sing in the chorus because she ate glue and froze. Neither does Hapless, Dummkopf, Clod, Numskull, or Dunce.
- She and Numskull are the only females in the original Dumb Ways to Die music video.
- Interestingly, both are the third lines of their respective groups.
- They also don't sing in the chorus.
- Both have eight letters in their names and have an L and M in their names.
- Both were pronounced as male in the game; but after an update, they were pronounced as female.

- If you win Stand Firm, she will wink at the player, implying two things: she can move her eyes and the Beans are somewhat self-aware. She also strangely moves on her own trying to un-stick herself from the superglue on the floor if you lose that said minigame.
- She is not the only bean who shows signs of self-awareness. For example, Bungle will pull a shirt out of the clothes dryer saying he loves the player if you win his second minigame (Dial Trial), Hapless will also wink at the player if you win his second minigame (Tip Toe Tap), and Numskull will give a thumbs up to the player if you win her first minigame (Spaceman Splat).
- If you lose Glue Screw, Calamity will swallow the superglue, but her mouth’s expression will strangely change into a frown. This implies she can still move her mouth.
- Besides from the superglue from the Original video and her first two minigames, the rest of her deaths involve her bleeding out.
- In the success scene of the minigame "The I-Fall Tower" from Dumb Ways to Die (application), Stumble approaches her on the top of the Eiffel Tower and she shares a croissant with him, having a romantic moment with each other.
- Ironically, she and Stumble are the 3rd lines of their respective groups.
- In Dumb Ways to Die: Dumb Choices, there was a visual error in Stumble’s story where there was two Calamities. This has since been fixed.
General[]
- She was initially confirmed as male in the app; during the old tutorial for "Stand Firm", it says "Don't let him fall".
- However, Dumb Ways to Die™: Crazy Chronicles Activity Journal claims that Calamity is female. As a result, this was later changed in an update to the game; now the text reads "Don't let her fall". The same goes for Numskull initially being referred to as male in the minigame Spaceman Splat, which is now modified correctly as "Guide the astronaut back to her helmet!" posterior to the ver. 2.9.0 update.
- Calamity can actually be a real name, although she is most likely named after the noun, which is defined as an event causing great and often sudden damage or distress; a disaster.
- She along with her pet hare are the main characters in Easter Calamity.
